As some of you know I have recently passed my computerised level II - and got a distinction :)
I've contacting the ICB regarding applying for a practice license which they are putting in the post for me.
I can now upgrade my membership to Associate level and pay £65 for this, I only joined the ICB in Nov 2009 so they said that my membership would be extended at associate level for a further 12 months (Nov 2011). I am planning to take the computerised level III within the next month but I'm guessing i'd then need pay another £71 to become a member which would then extend my membership to 2012? I guess I wondered if I can still have my practice licence before upgrading my membership? as I'll have to pay £65 this month and then £71 when I pass my level III.
I'm hoping to do my manual level II in June and have a past paper to work through at the moment.
Although I took the additional 1 year upgrade which added a year to the unexpired portion, for the price of one year. They also offered an upgrade fee, to upgrade for the unexpired amount, which was cheaper.
Your practice licence shouldn't be affected as it only shows your practice name and does not show any qualifications on it. It is assumed you wont do work beyond your qualification level.
Ah that's interesting, I'm waiting for the practise license information to come through the post so I think what I might do is give them a call to upgrade and see what they say.
