Hi

I have just received a newsletter from another forum and it mentions www.kellysearch.co.uk and I was wondering whether anyone from here uses the paid service and what they think of it or should it just be used for the free listing it offers.

Regards

Mark

To be honest, if people were looking for a bookkeeper online I think they would be more likely to search straight from google rather than looking on something like this. The exception may be something like Yell which is heavily advertised and people know of. I would stick to the free listing.

Kind regards

Zöe

Seems to be part of the Reed publishing business empire.

After a quick search of web blogs it seems that once they have you you're bombarded with people trying to sell to you but not found any reports of anyone actually managing to get any business through it. Then again people always complain about the bad things rather than praise the good.

Seems that Kelly's has been around since 1799 and went online in 2004... I've been in business for 30 years and I've never heard of it before! Maybe it's just one of those that my Spam filter kindly disposes of before ever getting anywhere near my inbox.

cheers,

Shaun.

You are right Shaun, on both counts

a) I've been on it for two years and not a peep except for b)

b) Within minutes of registering the phone calls started, it got so bad that I started telling callers in no uncertain terms what to do with their special offers (not like me!!).
I even started ignoring with held number calls but realised it might be a genuine one. Eventually signed up to the Telephone Preference Service, which seems to have worked

Funnily enough, I was looking at Kellysearch today thinking about joining up but thanks to your replies it seems this is not a great idea. By the way, how much is the annual subscription?

Mark, I was worried about all the phone calls I might end up getting!

Nothing has happened yet, but I signed up the other day I was getting worried.

Sorry nothing to really tell, hoping that will stay the case!
