Doing an exercise involving a 3-column (Dr/Cr) Ledger. 

Is there a formula for the 3rd column that adds "Dr" or "CR" or "  " (zero value) ? confuse
(I'm using Excel 2003)

Hi Bob,

it's not a formula it's just formatting.

Grab the column or cell that you want to show this formatting,

Right click and go to format cells.

Go to custom and enter the following custom option in the Type: box :

0.00" CR";0.00 " DR";0.00

Or indeed just cut and paste it from here into the box.

That will append CR if positive and DR if negative and nothing for zero values

I just love Excel questions.
