I was looking for sample letters and advertising ideas etc. I know that this is American and is ezine publication but just wondered what your thoughts were on these sorts of things for templates and marketing ideas.
what a truly horrible site! As the idea of the site is as you suggest to promote templates and marketing ideas then you would think that the author might have put a bit more effort into her own templates and marketing.
I would give that one a wide berth.
I know what you mean about trawling sites on miserable afternoons. That was actually how I came across this site when I was looking for templates and found Bookcert. I never actually bought Bookcert but I'm certainly happy that I found this site.

Its very frustrating when your looking for something in particular I seem to have come across every version of the same information with different website addresses.
I will be giving them a very wide berth.
But will continue to venture deeper into the internet to gain further information, what else would I be doing on a Sat night.
I'm not surprised you were trawling websites on a Saturday night, especially when prime telly viewing was a choice of the diabolical Eurovision song contest and an evening with Subo (nothing against Subo if it's your taste but it was a repeat anyway!.
what an interesting site you found! made me think if i would make a site like that( i know the theories as well how to gain clients) i possibly could earn more money than with actual bookkeeping. i could maybe cooperate with one of the bookkeeping bodies, they could confirm the potential earnings as a bookkeeper and i would sell the letters to potential clients, etc. (i probably would get them from kris for free saying it,s for me,his letters seem to be very popular) thanks michelle! ;)
I actually emailed Sylvia Jaumann because I visited her site some time ago and found so many broken links, I wrote and told her!
An extract of what I told her
" .................a website that expired 11/03/2009.........As you are selling a book on becoming a successful freelance Bookkeeper, it gives the impression that Dawn Hail's business has failed, which in turn leads a visitor to think that maybe the book wont deliver it's perceived promise of success... "
To be fair she did reply, thanking me for my feedback but I haven't checked since

Hi,
Its one of those Ezine things and seems to be very much an American thing. " How to become a Virtual Assistant or How to become a Millionaire" Not that I have anything against them anyone with a bit of knowledge can do the same and probably make a good living at it. As long as they deliver what they say and not mislead people to part with their money and then when do download it, it is fully of other adverts asking for more money and not giving you what you have paid for.
Hi, I was being sarcastic there, but i think without question it is possible to make money on this way, i just don,t really like this sort of american way....but costs nothing to make a website, cost nothing to make some letters and sell them and if someone buys them then there you go money for nothing.

I'm Sylvia Jaumann, the owner of this so-called "horrible" site. First of all, I'm not American, I'm Canadian. I don't pretend to be American.
Second of all, what exactly did you find so offensive about a sales letter that sells a package of bookkeeping tools for freelance bookkeepers? There are no broken links. Everything is working fine and has been for some time -- I check regularly.
As for the link another poster here was referring to, it was a website link from someone who left a testimonial for me on another site entirely. Hardly something that I would check regularly. But I did thank that person for pointing it out to me.
I'm not an anonymous Internet Marketer. I'm a freelance bookkeeper who has been doing bookkeeping for over 18 years. I always personally answer emails from every bookkeeper who writes to me requesting advice or assistance. I get tons of emails every day and I answer them all personally.
I have just had a look at the site, and I must say I would be put off buying the product. I'm sorry, but your site looks like so many others that have a reputation for not being terribly reputable. Those SEO tools, or make a million pounds in 10 minutes, you know the stuff. The sort of non-products that sell around the web to people who buy into the making easy money overnight stuff.
Like Shaun, having looked at it, I would also give it a wide berth. Have a look at the bookcert site, they sell similar, but do it in a more friendly way. Buy splitting your 'pitch' into sections on separate pages it wont look as salesy in your face.

Kris,
You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I can't please everyone, so I don't even try.
This salespage is written to sell a product and that's exactly what it does.
If you're smart, you'd know that since it's being sold on Clickbank, it's protected by their 60 day refund policy. Would you like to venture a guess as to how many refunds I've given on this product since it launched? One. That's right. All my other customers have been very happy with their purchase. If they weren't, they would have gotten a refund from Clickbank.
I'm not going to get into a debate here, I'm just making a point to keep my product from being slandered on a public forum.
I was simply making some points as well as, I thought, being constructive about why I felt this way. I hoped this feedback would help you develop your site further.
Certainly I dont believe anyone slated your product. From what I read no one got far enough to purchase it. The reason? Exactly as I outlined.
I have no idea the security of clickbank, or even what it is. I'm sure your customers are happy with the product, no one here has said otherwise. Myself and others were simply commenting on the sales methods and how they could be made a bit more friendly.
