Sample Exam papers

Hi

I am taking my Book keeping level one exams in just over a week and wondered if anyone can tell me if I can get hold of some practise exam papers. I have managed to get one off city and guilds site but could do with a few more to practise.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

welcome to the forum.

which body are you taking exams with?

Regardless of your supervisory body try out these practice papers for recording financial transactions.

http://www.accaglobal.com/students/cat/exams/t1/exam_papers

And these for maintaining financial records :

http://www.accaglobal.com/students/cat/exams/t3/exam_papers

For level 1 these will set you up for a pass as they are slightly more advanced than your exam is likely to be.

I don't think that level 1 will touch on any of the other past CAT exam papers.

Have fun and good luck in the exam,

Shaun.

No Problem Michelle,

I don't know the full city and guilds syllabus but if anything isn't covered by the CAT papers that I've directed you to already the questions that you need will be in one of the others.

For info, the full set of exams are :

* Paper 1 Recording Financial Transactions
* Paper 2 Information and Management Control
* Paper 3 Maintaining Financial Records
* Paper 4 Accounting for Costs
* Paper 5 Managing People and Systems
* Paper 6 Drafting Financial Statements
* Paper 7 Planning - Control and Performance Management
* Paper 8 Implementing Audit Procedures
* Paper 9 Preparing Taxation Computations
* Paper 10 Managing Finances

Have fun and good luck with the exams,

Shaun.

Hi

I have found the links you have suggested they just seem to be questions answers. I have provided a link to the type of thing I am looking for if anyone can help. http://www.cityandguilds.com/documents/ind_business_finance/8953-11-Past-Paper.pdf

Thanks

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Sorry, questions answers? You have noted that the questions and answers are in different documents?

for example, on page :

http://www.accaglobal.com/students/cat/exams/t1/exam_papers

UK (GBR)

* Pilot paper questions PDF document
* Pilot paper answers PDF document

I've had a look at your link (very slow load time on that one) and the questions whilst covering the same material are in a different format.

Looking at ACCA fundamentals level (rather than CAT) there is a slight difference in format of the questions but not enough to be like the city and guilds paper.

ACCA paper F3 is financial accounting basics. Have a look at this one and see what you think :

http://www.accaglobal.com/pubs/students/acca/exams/f3/past_papers/uk/f3uk_2006_dec_ppq.pdf

The same underlying knowledge is required for all three types of paper but being so close to your exam having the questions in a different format to how they appear in your exam may not help you.

If you had more time I would still suggest that you do the CAT and ACCA papers but with so little time it may be better for you to find alternatives.

I don't know if you have access to it but the BPP AAT revision companion for units 1-4 covers all of your syllabus in a similar format to your exam paper.

The other paper that is very similar to yours is the ICB level I manual however, that's a paid for paper and I don't think that you've got enough time left to get a copy sent to you.

Hope that some of the above helps,

Kind regards and good luck,

Shaun.
