Just roughly, does anyone know how much Public and Professional Insurance cost? Are we talking 100's or 1000's?

Many thanks smile

I don't know about Public Liability insurance (is it really required) but for Professional Indemnity Insurance it will be based on turnover amongst other things.

I know you're not (?) going with the ICB, but to get a rough idea of the figures you could play around with the quote thing with Trafalgar.
https://www.trafalgar.uk.com/asp/form28part1.asp?a=0&useDef=1&sp=icb&formProc=new

So I'd say we are talking 100's not 1000's.

Maybe even 10's rather than 100's

£47.45 up to £5,000 turnover
£86.10 to to £10,000 turnover
£114.00 up to £15,000 turnover
£130.80 up to £20,000 turnover
£147.60 up to £25,000 turnover

based on a sole trader with cover of £50,000 and no employees.

Try this site:- https://www.simplybusiness.co.uk It compares various companies for quotes. I got a quote from Glemham for £84 for £50,000 cover with no employees and turnover of £25,000 or less.

You only need Public Liability if you have clients visiting your premises.

Hi Jill,

I was just researching PII at the time. I haven't taken any out yet as I'm not yet a member in practice. It will probably have gone up considerably by the time I do !

I use Sennet Insurance - If you have a membership you do have certain rules to cover for the insurance and they will ask for a copy for their records.

I've just had a look at Glenham and half the cost of Trafalgar, I'm now wondering if there's a catch?

Tony.

Hi Julie

Did ICB approve your insurance with Glenham.  Dont want to go ahead with them and find ICB wont accept.

I also live in Devon
