Just completed the OU B190 course. Will not know the results until mid-September, but am confident of a good pass.
I have been told by IAB that this will entitle me to Membership of the Association. Is that really enough to practice as a Bookkeeper ?
In the meantime, I would like to learn Payroll, Self Assessment, Computerised Bookkeeping. However, it seems that IAB is re-writing their course criteria and the new course material should be available in August/September.
Given that I could already be a "Member" of the Association, does it matter where I get this additional training/certification ?
My reason for asking is that I have a training budget (a grant) of just £500. Would love to do one of the level 3 (Diploma) courses, but doubt there is enough money available.
Any recommendations/suggestions ?
cheers

Bob as a member of IAB you can get a practising certificate. Whether or not you will be confident enough to take on clients without any prior experience is a matter for you to decide.
