Hi Bob
Just seen your post!
I am booked in to go on my first HMRC workshop (Business Expenses and Capital Allowances).
I understand they count towards CPD too but don't know if they give certificates of attendance or not or how you proove you have done it for CPD.

CPD - Are you with anyone else other than the ICB Shirley?
I was under the impression that the ICB did not insist on CPD.
I'm not opposed to CPD just curious about what it actually means in practical terms should the ICB insist on it in future.

I have been on quite a few workshops over the years at HMRC and they are usually very informative and laid back. You used to be able to request a CPD certificate from them, hope
this helps

I should consider going on these myself as just starting out also, how do you get booked onto these and how often do they run them?

Hi Peasie

No I am only with ICB - they mentioned at the regional seminars that they are bringing in CPD and we need to get both "structured" and "unstructured" points - as I was going to the workshop I thought I might as well try and use it for CPD - I will ask for a certificate.

I heard about the different seminars though the "business link" website but try this link too

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/bst/advice-teams-area/southtraining.htm

They do free workshops on loads of subjects and as I am just starting out I thought it would be good for me.
