ICB Questions?
Permalink Closed

Hi.

Out of interest How long does it take the ICB to mark papers? I've just finished my Level 2 computer exam and I'm itching to know the result biggrin

Also, when you sit the exams at assessment centres, do they let you know the results straight away?

Would you recommend taking the Level 3 manual and then computer exams before Payroll and Self Assessment?

Cheers
Tony.

The marks at exam centres you are given an envelope with the result as soon as you finish the exam (and leave the computer room).

With my online (Level 1 manual) I got the result straight away so I can't understand why you haven't had your result for the computerised version. I've done my self-assessment exam and log into the ICB website every day to see if the result is there but it just keeps on saying it will be there before the 24th September.

As for the order of exams - I would do them in the order you state (with maybe SA before Payroll as there is less involved). I assume less involved as the course with Ideal Schools is over £450 for the Payroll Diploma and you were just meant to pass the SA exam with the HMRC leaflets until the ICB came out with a manual to help.

Thanks for the reply, think I've confused you though, I meant the Level 2 computer bookkeeping exam, not level 1 on a computer - if you see what I mean...

I wasn't really confused - I just like to give that impression. I've figured it out. The computerised exam can be done on any bookkeeping software package so has to be marked manually. I was thinking of the Sage certification when the exam is done online. Not that I've done it.

Hi Tony,

ICB aim to have results posted out within 1 calandar month from receiving the paper back from you.

For online assessments and centre based testing you get your results straight away.

For home postal assignments they will appear online usually 2-3 days before you receive them in the post.

In reality it is usually quicker for the postal assignments, but does depend on peak times etc.

Jusy keep logging into the ICB website every day because as James says they will appear there 2-3 days before you get them through the post.
