I did put this query under the software section but got no replies!!
Can anyone help me
Can anyone tell me how I would enter the following? Money received for services £1500
less NIC paid £180
Money received into bank £1320
Any replies would be greatly received!! -this is for a self employed person - money received was from an agency who take NI contributions on a regular basis.
I think no-one's replied because we need more information. It looks like this is money paid from either an agency or a umbrella company. It looks like it may be employers' ni but without further information it's difficult to tell
I'm sorry! The person I am helping receives self billing invoices from the company she does work for. I therefore raise an invoice on QB and when the money is received I mark it on QB in the usual way. In this particular instance there was a deduction of £180 which says NIC - I would presume that this is employers' NI contributions. I am getting in a pickle as to how I show these entries!! Any replies would be greatly appreciated! Nicky
Not sure what this is for, it's a straight 12% deduction but ers ni is 12.8% and ees ni is 11% and that's only applied to UEL. Who is paying this? The only time I have come across NI being applied to a self employed person was from the BBC, can't recall why they did it though!
Hi there - I have just put this on a forum and someone got back to me and said that they have seen it before when actors are paid by an agency and the engager pays NI contributions. The person who I am helping is a model - I would guess that a reporter would be employed on the same basis. There are quite a few of these and the NI deductions don't correlate to what was paid eg on one invoice paid 12,000 and 75.90 was taken. I think I know how to handle it now - but thanks for getting back to me. Nicky
