Hello,

I am completely new to this forum so i apologise in advance if my questions/ queries make no sense.
I was just wanting to know whether there are any fully qualified bookkeepers (with ICB) here who didn't have problems finding a job after getting qualified.

I am just about to take my last exam in computerised (Level III) bookkeeping with ICB and was looking forward to my diploma until i got discouraged by some people saying my qualification is not as good as ATT, AAT, etc...

Kind regards

Lana

I am guessing that the majority here run their own business. Have you thought about doing that?

Hi,

It's not necessarily that it's not as good a qualification as AAT, more that it's completely different!

AAT is an accounting qualification, the ICB provide bookkeeping qualifications (mainly, although there are advanced levels that cover some accounting), so the two are very different.

There is no reason that you would not be able to find a bookkeeping job with once your ICB exams are done, although the job market is maybe not too buoyant at the moment.
