Buying Sage 50 2011

Please can someone advise me what the disadvantages are, if any, of buying this software from an online seller as opposed to buying from Sage? The price differences are amazing and I'm not sure why

Many thanks

Beware buying cheap software, especially Sage, from disreputable sources on the web.

There are a few genuine Sage affiliates who post on here so you should eventually get some offers.

Good morning Goatleaf!

As the previous post suggests, be very wary when buying cheaper alternatives from the website. You must ensure that when you receive the software it has been previously unopened and untampered.  On genuine software, Sage will provide you with a serial number and an activation key, which you must use to register with Sage.  I think this ensures that you have a genuine software licence.  Unfortunately you won't know if the software is genuine until you try to register it - if you buy it from an unknown source.  I think you need to shop about and check the suppliers credentials wherever possible.

If you are interested, I am a member of the Sage Accountants club and can get you a genuine copy discounted - I would need to know what you require, so it is probably easier if you contact me direct.

Is there anyway of sending private messages on this forum?  I haven't quite figured this out yet!!

Anyway, hope this helps.

Jane

Hi Jane,

If you don't mind it being publically visible, you can amend your account settings to have your email addresses visible in your profile.

Hi, I am a sage accredited partner and can confirm there is no difference with buying direct or via a reseller apart from the price. Due to the high costs of being an accredited partner I am able to obtain a good discount which means I can pass on a good deal to a buyer. I have just quoted sage 50 at £ 370 + dly + VAT rather than £ 560 RRP costs. Additionally study package 1,2,3 I am selling for £ 245 rather than £ 310

Please email directly if you would like a quote and I will be able to quote to your needs - sagesales@completebookkeeping.co.uk
hope helps - kind regards Donna
