Searchable accounts software?
Permalink Closed

Hi all

Need to pick brains! Can anyone recommend a package where the accounts are searchable? For example, I enter in all the expenses, allocating codes as appropriate. Then I try to reconcile it and find I am,say, £250 out. It would be nice to be able to call up a search facility that said 'Find all postings of £250'. At the moment I use TAS Books basic, and it does not have this facility. I am wondering about setting up a database to act as a general day book, and just posting the totals to TAS, but an all-in-one system would be better. Free would ideal, but not essential.

Hope I'm making sense?

Best wishes

Graham

In Sage if you go into Company>Financial>Find then select net amount it would find all instances of £250 or search for the same would show all of your transactions for £250.

Thanks for that, Steve. I shall download a trial of Sage Instant accounts and play. I think if it only applies to Sage 50 and above, I shall probably go to plan B, but many thanks for your help.

Best wishes

Graham

You can perform a wide variety of searches within Fusion Accounts.  There are search filters throughout the system and within the Transaction Audit Trail.

no, this is a feature of sage instants aswell.

dont however buy it from sage as it costs over £130, you can buy a brand new copy of the latest V16, from third party suppliers for under £90.

For any Accountz customers that see this, just sort on any amount column and you will see all your £250 transactions together (and all those just below and above it too). There is also a direct search for anything anywhere. Not often I bang my own drum, but hey ho, how can I not.
