Welcome from Ross on Wye, Lou smile.gif

Hope you enjoy it here - it's certainly good for the soul. Hanging around, reading postings and asking questions and you soon get the definite impression that bookkeepers are uncommonly nice people smile

Have you been going long?

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

Oh Ross on Wye! Not far then :)

Thank you for the welcome, I find this place very interesting and very helpful. Most people here do appear very nice and friendly.

I am just starting out after deciding on a career change. Currently studying sage 50 at Monmouth. Enrolled before knowing the correct structure for studying :/

Hoping to start ICB level 1 or the AAT level 2! Decisions, decisions.

How about you?

Louise.

I've come from a career change too. This is my second year after qualifiying. I decided on the self-employed route and so chose ICB membership, though you'll see lots of discussion on the Forum over the pros and cons of the various alternatives. The chief thing, I think, is to belong to one. You'll see there's also a lot of discussion about training providers!

If you ever want to chat about the realities of being a bookkeeper around here - or just want to chat about bookkeeping and how to do it, how to set yourself up etc, email me and I'll give you my number. Always happy to share experience and make connections.

Hello to all of you from Herefordshire direction.

I had someone telephone me last week (Ross on Wye) looking for quarterly bookkeeping & vat return, and also self assessment, he's a pretty small business and recons it should take only about 2 - 3 hours / quarter (has had a bookkeeper for 6 years, but she's gone back to f/t employment).

Problem is I am not qualified for self assessment, and also as I work full time and do bookkeeping on the side, I tend to try to work from home (evenings & weekends) and he wants someone to go to his premises. I said I would see if I could find someone for him... so if anyone is interested please can you email me your contact details and i can pass them onto him?
my email address lizshome@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance!

Liz
