Sage - Making account alterations after posting

Hi.  I have a problem in that money paid on account has been posted to the wrong client ledger.  2 customers with the same name !!!  How do you transfer the posting or do you simply credit the wrong one and put a new payment in on the write ledger ?

Hi Bridget

I think this one should be a simple case of making a note of the transaction number, going to corrections module, selecting the transaction and then click on the edit button at the top. You should be able to select the correct client account from the drop down list at the top in the edit box, then save.

or go into corrections and delete the transaction altogether and start again.

It will just need editing in the corrections, this actually deletes the incorrect one and posts the correct one which will all show in the audit trail.
