Tax and NI bandwidths on Sage Payroll
Permalink Closed

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!!!!

Could someone who uses Sage Payroll please check the tax and NI bandwidths I have on my version - I'm sure I had to change them when I did my exam to a previous year but am now starting to run the payroll for a client and want to make sure they are correct.

I've attached two screen captures of the bandwiths I have.

Thank you in advance

Kim

Hi There

Just looking at the tax bandwidths above, I would say that they are out of date as the 10% tax band was abolished a few years ago and the basic rate band was reduced from 22% to 20%

The current personal allowance is 647L and and any earning over the employees personal allowance is charged at 20% up to £37,400 taxable pay, at which the rate goes up to 40% up to taxable pay of £150,000, after which the tax rate is 50%

At for NI, I cannot see you screen shot above, but I can tell you that the Lower Earning Limit is £97 per week or £421 per month, the earnings threshold is £110 per week or £476 per month. For employees on A Rate NI, the rate is 11% for employees and 12.8% for employers, up to the upper earning limit of £844 per week or £3656 per month.

Go to HMRCs website for ore information, hope that helps.
