Mileage Rates

Seeing as our Gov't have increased VAT and fuel duty at the same time, don't you think they should increase the mileage rates now in line to reflect this additional cost?

Agree with Peasie - its ridiculous that it hasn't increased, particularly in line with the increased cost of fuel over the last couple of years.

They definitely need to re-assess considering Petrol and Diesel have been too high for too long and no sign of coming down.

Makes you laugh how the Oil Companies are the only ones allowed to get away with price fixing!

How many years have they been at 40p/25p?

It was of no concern of mine in the past as it didn't apply to me but now I've done my Self Assessment Tax Returns Diploma I'm just curious as to how long it's been 40p.

I remember in the dim and distant past the mileage allowance was based on engine size and I seem to remember that at that time it was something like 64p for the shogun I had.
