Hi everyone...I have been wanting a change in career (Having worked in Healthcare for the majority of my working life) and have been looking quite seriously at the path into bookkeeping. I have to say this forum has been invaluable!! My concern is this: Having payed out hard earned cash and dedicating a lot of time to the studying, how easy is it going to be to gain employment? Having looked on job websites I can see that about 99.9% of employers want experience first and foremost. At the moment I have no office/finance experience and I was just wondering if anyone found this hard after a radical career change. As a footnote....I haven't booked a course yet, but was thinking of the AAT bookkeeping course to start with to see if it is something I could handle. Premier Training seem like a good bet ? Thanks for your patience whilst reading!!
If you are after employment, then AAT would be the recommended route at the moment.
I haven't used Premier Training myself but they get good reviews on here from forum members who have/ are using them. I used Ideal Schools (who I would also recommend) for my training for ICB but they do not do AAT. They do CAT training, which is another option, if you want to go down the employed route.
I have used Premier Training for AAT Payroll and they have been good and reasonably priced. If you want employment then AAT is the route to go as it is the most recognised with accounts practices etc and its the one which is asked for for agencies.
