i was wondering... am i correct in thinking that i can claim back the vat i was charged on boxes of chocolates i bought and distributed to customers/prospective customers these are the only gifts i have given out and seeing as the gifts to the recipients will not exceed the £50 limit for the same year?
I thought, but could easily;y be wrong, that unless the gifts had the company's name and logo displayed on it and was not food and drink then you were not allowed to claim as a tax deduction and not allowed to claim VAT. Also the £50 limit.
So I would not have thought you can claim vat. But as I say, I could easily be wrong on this point as I have not researched the HMRC legislation for a long while.
