Studying ACCA professional papers, but want to do bookkeeping. Advice required

Hi,

I am currently studying towards my ACCA (doing my professional papers). I am employed at the moment, but was looking to do bookkeeping on the side (at the moment just try to get into it and get some experience). I was just looking at the first steps to get into bookeeping? Would I be required to get bookkeeping qualifications/certificates?

Just require some information to send me in the right direction. (Sorry if there is another topic like this I couldn't find one)
