Old Tax Return Errors
Permalink Closed

Would be interested to hear if anyone has any experience in having s/a figures amended that are older than allowed under overpayment/error or mistake relief?

Have a client who had their 04/05 return completed by HMRC, wrong figures used, life changing outcome, I'm trying to appeal it.

I myself don't have too much experience of this but I do find it unusual that the return was completed by HMRC.

Was it one where he went in with everything and they did it whilst he was there?

I do however know a chap who specialises in fighting against the HMRC and being an ex tax inspector he is well placed for dealing with this sort of thing. He has carried out many defences and does a lot of work in the City for the big boys.

If you want his contact details, email me on info@merlionabs.co.uk.

Yes it was, he turned up with paperwork and they 'helped' him complete it.

For general interest, I have gone down the AAM route initially, see if that pulls any strings.

Thanks for your offer, I will drop you an email in a mo.
