Hi I have recently had my PC hard drive wiped clean, I am having problems re -installing my sage software. I previuosly had version 8, version 12 and instant version 14. I am only installing instant but when I have completed installation and go to set up the comany details the message "invald directory path C:line 50" does anyone have any ideas please?
Hi Donna, am on a C drive. I had another go last night so I installed both line 50 versions to see if they were OK - they are, I then installed the instant and everything was fine - I really thought I had made it but as I finished entering comany details where it asks for the activation keys - they were already in - but not the ones fir instant - the ones for version 8. It wouldn't let me go any further because the serial and activation keys didn't match the programme, I couldn't delete them becasue they were 'set in ' if you kno what i meen. Any suggestions?
I believe from what you are saying they are reading from identical directories and therefore the newer versions are taking presidence. You need to ensure they are mapped differently on machine to ensure they do not overide.

It could be that yes. And if you use a company data, save the file rather than use the lower version and update, it will then combine the versions. Also makes a difference if Vista. For instance my 2007 version is: c:/Sage 2007 The other versions are: C:/program data/sage/accounts/2008....2009 etc.etc
Hope makes sense.
