It's been a while. I initially asked about the level 1 manual bookkeeping exam last year and I got some really good responses. So thank you very much for your support.
I got in touch with the ICB asking them how much it costs to sit the level 2 now (due to the vat increase) and to my shock they said it is £60.00. When I purchased this course a year ago it was £25.00 for each exam. I am currently unemployed and now have to do a saving plan for this exam. Can they just to that?
Oh by the way, I tried the solar accounts package and it seems pretty straightforward. My goal is to work for myself so I think that I would use that package. I have Sage Line 50 experience but that package is too expensive especially whenyour starting out. Are there any other packages similar to the Sage Line 50 at a fraction of the price?
Hi, re: Sage To start out you could always start on instant - approx £90 without support. This would work perfect for a small company with no stock or dept. you could stay on this until find a 2nd customer and then you would have to upgrade to L50 2 company license.
There is SageOne if you would like cloud system.
Otherwise - cheaper packages as you say.

With regards to exam prices, I sat Level 2 manual at Pearson Vue last year and it was £55 - are you not getting mixed up with Computerised Level 2 exam which was £25?
