posting journals in sage

hi I am new to this forum

need help to post a jounal in sage

i have a accountancy bill from 2009 to enter in sage

the bill is been paid from  family not from business account

fee                      £1260
Vat at 15%         £189
Total                   £1449

can anyone help me?

Hi Stef

Journal is

Dr Accountancy (P&L)  £1260
Dr VAT (BS) £189
Cr Capital Introduced (if sole trader/partnership) or Directors Loan (if Ltd Co) £1449

any help for the correct tax code for those transacions and which is the correct nominal code for capital introduced

Hi Stef

Tax code should probably be T1 (standard rated) but you might need to change the amount of VAT calculated if it is set up at 20% as the journal you refer to is only at 15%.

Normally would use 3xxx for capital introduced and set up in the chart of accounts in the capital & reserves section
