Sage Payroll 50 Adjustment
Permalink Closed

Hello people!

It's been a while since I have looked on here

Can anyone help me?

I don't actually do the payroll myself but we are due to do the year end for the PAYE/NIC Return and we need to make adjustments on the wages.

Is it possible to go back through the year and change the salaries week by week?

The reason being is for tax purposes on the directors salaries

Can anyone help??

From memory, Sage payroll used to be a nightmare for doing this, as it did a period end after every week/month.

However, I haven't used it for 4 years, so it may have changed.

Thanks for your reply Nick

It does do a period end after every week, so do you mean we would have to restore back to the start of the year and re- enter?

From what you're saying - I think so.

However, I am sure there are people on here who currently use Sage Payroll who may have more of an idea.

Now I haven't used Sage payroll for a couple of years, then it was professional version for over 200 employees and three companies and you could use the "roll back" function for individual or all employees to roll back to a specific date/week number and then reprocess.  I can't remember exactly where the option is, try searching in help.  Be carefull, all the payslips issued may be inaccurate and possibly payment to HMRC I only used it very occassionally and preferred to adjust in the current period if at all possible.
PS. I may still have an old version loaded on a laptop somewhere I could load up if you need any further info.

That sounds good...and would save me so much time if I can just change the ones I need to rather than the whole lot

I am not back in the office until Monday so will investigate then.

Thank you for your input, it's really helpful to me as I don't usually process the wages

Hi

I currently use Sage payroll for my client and the rollback facility is the one you need but as stated before be careful with the adjustments.

You can find it in Tasks, then Rollback and just follow the onscreen instructions

Well, I managed to do all the adjustments for the year thanks to you guys :o)

However.....I am now faced with another problem....with very little experience with sage 50 payroll

I was checking the records for this year (weeks 1-7) and have discovered that there are no records for week one although I have payslips. It seems it may have not been updated or something for that week. Weeks 2-7 are complete.

If I want to enter the figures for week one, do I have to roll back to that date and re enter the 7 weeks? Please tell me there is a simpler way to do this

What would I do without you!?
