Web based accounts software?
Permalink Closed

One of my clients needs a web-based accounting package, that can run 2 or 3 companies on and do self-billing really easily (she'll be doing that bit) - but still allow me access to do the other stuff

oh, and she's an artistic type not a numbers person, so it needs to not look scary!

Ideas?

Hi Sara

The only one I have consistently heard good things of is Kashflow (www.kashflow.co.uk). I have just looked at the site and you get a 60 day free trial.

I haven't used it so can't say what I think of it.

Regards

Mark

With Kashflow you would need a licence per company; however, you can be setup with a central login to do this.

It is very user friendly and has a pleasant interface.

Hi Sara

The user can also trial Arithmo by purchasing accountant/ bookkeepers package by clicking on below link for free trial.

If she decides to purchase after free trial, just mention bookkeeping forum and ask for 5 clients licence instead of 10 clients licence.

By buying accountant/ bookkeeper package rather than separate licences, she will have all her companies in one place and can jump between companies without having to log in an out of different systems.

The system is multi-user, so you can both log in at same time and update at same time. just make sure you press f5 to refresh your webbrowser so you can see the changes the other person makes if you are both on phone going through accounts on system.

Best to trial Arithmo, Kashflow systems and others, see which the user likes in terms of feel of system.

I have taught an artist to use Arithmo once in 2 1/2 hours, with little bookkeeping experience and she liked it's simplicity and non-fussy user interface / screen.

I have tried Kashflow and I must say that it is really easy to migrate to their database. Though, as mentioned already, they would require a license per company but there is a way around it by creating what can be called a virtual private network which would be the avenue in which branches will be transacting. There would be a company that will be the central one to which the others will connect to report to.
