Employee not set as a leaver before year end
Permalink Closed

Firstly I can't get over how long the waiting times are to get through to sage blankstare it started off as 80 - 90 minutes then got down to 40 - 45 minutes. Just before I was about to fall asleep it said your call will be answered within 80 - 90 minutes again! yawn

My problem is that an employee left on 1st April but I wasn't told about this until the 12th. Last tuesday when I processed the wages he had a wage. For all I knew he was working last week and was due a wage this week. So obviously haven't put him as a leaver before year end.

When I try to set him as a leaver in the current year it won't let me print the P11's because theres nothing on it and the P45 has 0.00 in every box. I've completed every step in the year end check list apart from P60's as I'm waiting for them to be delivered.

Does anyone know what I should do?

Thanks!

Yes, last week I had a problem at one of my clients - couldn't load the 2011/12 update. Spoke with the company's IT guy who said ring Sage. After I'd gone through about 10 mins (slight exaggeration but you get my meaning) of the various options and pressing buttons I was told the queue was 45 mins. This on an 0845 number - no way I put the phone down. Got back on to the IT guy who remotely sorted out the problem which was actually something to do with the system he'd set up!!!!! Arrrggh

If you are like me, and have an inclusive 60 minutes for each call, it racks up the phone bill.

Try some of these land line numbers for HMRC

http://www.saynoto0870.com/

Just  Search to find alternative number, and enter HMRC in Enter Company Name box.

You should get a list of HMRC 0845 number and their geographic number.

You can also enter the 0845 number in the other box, for a direct search

Sage has just rang me after sending a complaint to them by email. Rang within minutes and I was put through in seconds.

I've never had to ring Moneysoft with a problem, or to ask how to do anything with their software in all the years I have been using their payroll software. Must be more than 10 years now.  Oh and I think its cheap - but then I think they charge such a low amount because they never have to provide much support.
