ICB Level III Manual - restarted after a 7 month gap
Permalink Closed

I was just looking at the progress box and noticed it has been over 7 months since I sent in my last assignment.

Why the long gap? Well, I hate writing essays or descriptions and assignment 3 had a fair bit of writing involved. I just kept on putting it off. I then started a Payroll Management Diploma course and that took up some time. I think there was a four month gap during that course as well.

A couple of days ago I went back to the Manual Level III course and because I'd forgotten things (or just making sure I HADN'T forgotten things) I re-did the two assigments I had already sent off and had marked. (You'll probably see why I don't like questions that require a description when I use expressions like "re-did"). Then I got to assignment 3. I've skipped the descriptive bits and did the calculation questions. I've moved on and have done assigment 4 and before I hit the sack tonight I think I'll get assignment 5 finished.

Monday I'm going to try and get assignment 6 done. I've read most of the notes several times as I skip that dreaded assignment 3. I'll then have to type all the answers out as at the moment they are just scribbled on paper. That's another thing I've done this time around. I've done all the assignments on paper rather than using spreadsheets. It is much more enjoyable when the balance sheet balances when you add them up with a calculator than a spreadsheet.

At some point I will have to go back to assignment 3 - but at the moment I am actually ENJOYING doing the assignments that require calculations.

I'm not sure what the moral of all this is or what the point of me writing it all out was. Just maybe to say that I enjoy doing these assignments that require calculations. I will probabaly buy all the available mock exams before I sit my actual exam. Ideal Schools do provide one mock exam when I have completed the last assignment.

 Hi Peasie

You may not like writing essays but you sure are capable of writing them biggrin (How many words in your OP?)

I know what you mean though. I spend more time writing, and rewriting things like emails, forum posts etc. than I ever do, doing calculations.

I now tend to do the least enjoyable things first, and get them over and done with.

Glad to hear your are still enjoying the coursework
