The AIA - Educate me...

Hi All,

this is a follow up to a very interesting thread posted by Phil Hendy in relation to the IFA.

The original question opened up further investigations of comparable bodies and I noticed that discussions on other sites involving the IFA invariably also tend to speak of the AIA in the same context (similar to people discussing ACCA and CIMA or ICB and IAB together).

I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the AIA?

Do we have any on the site, if so what do you think of them?

I've already asked too many questions about the IFA (specifically in relation to ACCA) in the other thread so thought best to start a new topic rather than clog that one up with discussions related to multiple bodies.

Looking forwards to hearing peoples views of them,

kind regards,

Shaun.

I personally hadn't really heard much about them until I got that tweet the other day!

Nor me but the more that I chase down IFA thread on accounting web the more that they keep coming up in discussions which makes me think that maybe I've missed something in the same way that people going down the AAT route quite often miss even glancing at CAT before deciding on their supervisory body.

I've had a glance at the AIA sylabus and it seems up to ACCA level so pretty impressive from that side. Just interested to know what others think of them.
