Sage Accountants Club ? (previously Bookkeepers Club)
Permalink Closed

Is it possible to get the multi company version of Sage if not an accountant or member of accountancy body? I had considered joining their bookkeepers club some time back then found out it no longer existed - and was under the impression you had to be a member of an accountancy body to join the club that replaced it. Is it possible? Has anyone done it - other than those that were originally members of the bookkeepers club?

Hi there, have a look a little further down on this list of recent posts (under bookkeeper club) and you will find some info, but just to say that I am not a member of either sage clubs and have a sage licence for 25 companies sage client manager latest verssion and updated each year (online only and no disk) and pay 34.66 month, although hearing from other members I am not sure why I have such a good price? Hope this helps. Julie

I did read that other thread and saw your post about paying 34.66 a month. I must just have skim read that thread though as I assumed you were a member of the accountants club. I will go back and look at the Sage page again - it will be a long way off though.

Been on the phone to them because there is a 35% discount offer on just now (this week only I think). I am going for the Sage Accountants Club Premier (Client manager & Payroll Bureau for 50 clients) costing 1295.00 plus VAT (I'm not VAT registered) £259.00 less discount £543.90 = £1010.10 - payable by 10 monthly direct debits.
I have to send them a copy of my practice certificate, copy of a utility bill and a copy of my driving licence or passport.

I thought the hassle of upgrading from 25 clients to 50 clients at a later date wasn't worth it and as I'm getting a 35% discount just now went for the 50 client version. Now I just need to find 26 clients.

Hope you get lots of clients to recoup that outlay £101 a month!!!! Then next year when they want you to upgrade to the latest versions and you pay the almost full price all over again. Doncha just love Sage and their marketing.

Hi,

I was a member of what was the Sage bookkeepers club known now as Sage Accountants Club. I've currently got a license for 10 companies and pay £84.00 over 10 months, it is expensive and i'm due to renew with them before the end of the year and will be requesting a discount this time around.

I have to say though I really do find Sage really straight forward and user friendly and for me to have that reassurance that I am confident with my software does mean a lot so i'm prepared to pay a reasonable price for this.

If you are wanting a better price it would be worth going through what is actually included in the price and if you are not using some of the ' extras' i know they do excel support, health and safety etc say so and ask if the price can be reduced on that basis, although I'm not sure if you can do this for the Accountants Club - it did work for me when I renewed my Sage line 50 Professional at the company I currently work for as well as running by business.

Hope this is useful
Thanks
Ann-marie

Just had my renewal price for the Sage Accountants Club (I too was with Bookkeepers club last year).......£995 + VAT for a 10 company licence. Think they can stick it....! I've now got some of my payroll clients on 12Pay and will move the rest across at year end. Also been looking at Solar for my accounts package. Hey ho!

Hi been reading through this thread, and I am really interested in the Sage Accountants Club, as I need a license for Sage 50 2010 for up to 10 companies (currently have 5) and to buy the software directly will cost me well over £2000.

However when looking over the accountants club packages they all say single user / single client?

are their no multi company versions anymore?

Would you not consider one of the other cheaper, and some think better packages, or is there a reason why you're looking at sage?

Hi, sorry should have said before I am looking at this on behalf of  afamily member, But she has had a lot of experience with sage, also Has one company running on a cheap version of sage atm, and would like to upgrade to a multi company version including the CIS module, I have read the other posts where people are reporting they paid about £500 for the year for 5 copmapnies however as mentioned before this is not stated anywhere on the sage website.

Regards

Chris

According to the Sage website, Sage 50 costs £1896.00 inc VAT for a 5 company version.  I can't imagine you'd get it for much less.

I'm prabably just very tight, but I'd never give sage 2 grand for their software, I wouldn't give them a quarter of that.

Kris

Hi Chris,

If you're replying to me I edited the link. If you add the product to your basket you can change the number of companies to check the prices

HI, thanks for the Link, Could you please explain to me what this would mean "Please note your practice must be a certified member of an Accountancy body to join the Sage Accountants' Club." again I am researching on behalf of someone else not entitrely sure what it all means, Also would that package come with the CIS module.

Thanbks for your help.

I joined the Sage Accountants Club Premier which gives me 50 companies, 6 users for Sage 50 and Sage 50 Payroll Bureau. This cost £1011.00 including VAT. This had a 35% discount off the real price.

To answer the part you have quoted - I had to send them a copy of my Practice Licence (from the ICB), a copy of my driving licence, a copy of a recent utility bill and four pints of the finest Peasie blood before they would allow me to join.

Hi Peasie

I'm also a member of the Sage Accountants club, Premier membership, 25 companies Payroll / Line 50 and will be coming up to renewal in Janaury next year.

I have promoted this in the past under a different log in name (prefer to be a little more anonymous these days as my practice has taken off) - in fact it was probably me that got you looking at it in the first place.

I also use VT+ and VT Final Accounts and paper ledger for one (bless them) client, but unlike some posters I really like Sage software, the company and being a Northerner myself, its Northern Head Office keeping thousands of delinquents off the streets.

Remember the old phrase ' Buy British ' well it's what we need to do if we are to get this economy moving again.

Anyhoo - saying all that and given that I think Accountants Club is tremendous value for money - see Kris's post above, as he is quoting non-accountant price - they discount to us as we become a 'reseller' potentially with a built in 20% discount for our clients.

I'm off track again, anyway the point of my reply is how the heck did you then secure an extra 35% off - I need to know before my renewal converstion and am prepared to pay for your advice with a dram of Laphroig and half a haggis.

Ken

Hi, Just phones sage regarding the accounts club, and they put me through to a different department, which then asked for my sage serial key before I could even speak to someone, does this mean I must allreaqdy be registered with sage before i can buy this package, also does anyone know which version of sage accounts the Professional Plus (Client Manager) will come with.

Regards
Chris.
