The Dr's surgery where my wife works has moved the monthly pay date from 25th to 30th of the month.
Her latest payslip shows payment from 25th - 30th, but her pay has stayed the same as previous months.
Her employers are saying that as she is payed monthly this makes no difference.
To my mind though her payslip is showing an additional week, but her pay is the same, and that if she were to leave at some point in the future (for example on the 15th of the month), she would only be paid from 30th to the 15th?
Please can anyone confirm (or otherwise) that she has been paid correctly?
It may be that although she previously was paid on the 25th, the pay period was the whole month. In my previous employment, we were paid on 20th of each month, but that was effectively 20 days in arrears and 10 or 11 days in advance. So if they had changed our pay date to 31st it would have made no difference to the amount received the first month (or any other).
She needs to check her contract, or alternatively her first payslip as this may show how many days she was paid for the first month she was there - ie if she started on 10th of the month, did she receive 15 days pay or 20.
