No access to "No bank reconciliation" button
Permalink Closed

I am working on Sage Instants, new company with recently installed software.  I have just changed the description on the Company Credit Card account in the Bank section to read "Loan Account" and processed the last three months transactions.  All going well as I enter the various payments and interest charges over the last few months however when I come to reconcile the Loan account a message appears telling me "The bank account selected has been marked as not requiring bank reconciliation".

I select Bank, Loan Account, Record and expect to be able to remove the tick from the No Bank Reconciliation option however the option is "in relief" ie. unaccessible.

Not sure what I am doing wrong and hope someone out there can advise.  Is it something to do with the original settings when the new software was installed?

P.S. Am loving the comments from various people about their cats using their laptops as warming pads!  I have a hamster that runs around the desk and suns itself under the angle poise lamp!

Hi

Not a Sage expert but have just had a look at my own copy.

One thing that might be worth checking, is what type of account has been selected (it's the drop down box above the tick box). It might be worth changing it to a different type?

Had quick read of the help sections, which says it should be changeable (unticked) but if this is done afer an audit trail has been cleared, it has an adverse effect on the audit trail. Other than that it doesn't say much else.

Sorry not a great deal of help but Saturdays are ususally quite quiet on the site, so thought I'd respond.

Bill

Thanks for the prompt response Bill.

Audit trail has not been cleared so I will check account type and see if that is problem.

Agree with Bill, have a look and make sure you have made the new account a "bank account" .

The account type is "Credit Card".  Could this be the problem?

Unfortunately in the Bank module the account type is also in relief and not changeable!  I really hate Sage sometimes!

Should I be looking in the Chart of Accounts to change the account type and that will then allow me access to the "No Bank Reconciliation" button in the Bank module?
