Starting to claim back VAT again

Hi, due to a long illness I have not been up to date claiming back VAT from HMRC. I  only need to claim back VAT on supplies (cleaning products, accountancy services etc) as goods I sell are zero rated.

I am not expecting to submit a huge claim, but want to know if I should expect to incur a fine for not having claimed VAT from HMRC for around 18 months?

Presumably you've been putting in nil returns?

If so, you can amend any VAT errors (up to £10k) on your next return.
