I am really puzzled. Is anyone know pitman training do they provide recognized certificate for the bookkeeping?I just dont understand why there are different type of course such as iab,icb city and guild and pitman training they provide their own certificate and all these courses running by the self study method, except city and guild. But I think many employers doesnt recognize city and guild qualification for the job(is that correct?).Is anyone can give any suggestion?
The Pitman training leads to their own qualication and also to taking exams with either ICB or IAB (the training centres are run as franchises and it's very much down to the individual centres who they enlist their students with).
For employers you will want to be goiing down the AAT route.
For self employment look at either ICB or IAB.
Before signing up with Pitman also compare the prices that you are being quoted against Premier training, Kaplan and Ideal schools. Also you might want to check out the Open University course B190 which is an excellent introductory course.
Hope that helps to get you started,
kind regards,
Shaun.
P.S. I'm not saying anything against itman, I'm just saying look carefully at the alternatives or even contemplate doing ICB without a training provider. Also, do a search of this site using Google for similar questions as this is something that has come up many times previously.
