Payroll journal annoying me!
Permalink Closed

Hi, I'm doing the usual monthly payroll journal, but for some reason can't get them to balance. I'm sure it's something I've just been staring at for too long, but grateful for some help!

Wherever I look, the figures are right from the Payroll report and my CR side for August total is correct. There is a £26.60 tax rebate for one of the employees included which I'm not sure how to deal with.

Gross Wages  £                  5,391.60
Directors Wages  £                  1,126.00
Employers NI  £                    416.37
NI Due   £     774.10
PAYE   £     558.20
Net Wages   £  5,321.67
   £                    6,933.97 £ 6,653.97

Subcontractors
 Subcontractor gross inv £                  1,510.00
 CIS credits  £     321.00
 Subcon 1 net pay  £     576.00
 Subcon 2 net pay  £     613.00
   £                    1,510.00 £ 1,510.00

Hi,

Still in my infancy with Payroll but don't you have a Director Employer's NIC missing?

Hi. It's 2 joint directors and they don't incur any as they pay themselves the minimum....

Your net wages don't stack up with gross, PAYE, and likely figure for employee's NI. Is there maybe something else, like student loan?

The PAYE refund increases net pay and decreases PAYE liability.

Thanks all, but I've just realised why I've got my difference. It's to do with an advance which isn't showing in the report. Phew!!!!
