For my sins I am a user of Sage but I have recently been reviewing other software for smaller bookkeeping clients (VT Accounts). I unfortunatley need to use Sage for my fathers business as he has requirment for divisional P&L and departmental breakdowns not to mention the various currencies etc (bookkeepers nightmare).
However, one thing I felt was very powerful about VT accounts was the option for VT final accounts to produce complete end of year accounts in a report complete with title page, index page, notes etc.
My question: is there anything similar for sage or indeed is there a third party software that i can use to export my data from sage and then produce Final Accounts for clients.
I use VTT+ for small businesses and Sage for companies etc and use VT Final Accounts to produce Final Accounts on both.
Simply import the Sage trial balance as a csv file into VT FA and the rest is no different to using a VTT+ file. I trialled Sage Instant Accounts Production and was very disappointed with it.
.............divisional P&L and departmental breakdowns not to mention the various currencies etc (bookkeepers nightmare).
..........

HI Noel
I haven't used all the functions of VT yet but it may be possible to set up divisions , departments, and revalue currency. I have used Departments, which will produce seperate P&L but have not used the currency revaluation, or tried to set up divisions.
As Ken has already said though, you can just import Sage TB in to Final Accounts, and as you already have the accounts configured in Sage, it will probably be a bit of a mare to migrate over to VT (although, again after year end you could import Sage TB into VT)
Thanks I really appreicate your advice. Sage can be a bit unflexibly when it comes to posting end of year adjustments etc and I have researched if there is an add on for Sage to produce end of Final Account in report form. However, on reading others comments on here a lot of people seem to favour the versitility of VTT+ so it your advice has been very much appreciated.
don't forget that people are refering here to VT Accounts here which is an Excel addon.
Buying VT Accounts does however include a full copy of VTT+ as it's assumed that is what you will use for data entry and manipulation before producing your final accounts.
