Hi Zigs Are you also preparing your client's accounts to submit with corp tax? if so, will need to take iXbrl into consideration too. Dalbir

You could use the free online filing software from HMRC (It's got a final accounts bit in there, too - which is rather "clunky", but then, it is free). You can "joint-file" online to both HMRC and Companies House.

Hi Zigs,

iXRBL is a way of tagging relevant values from a full set of Ltd Company Accounts so that HMRC can receive them securley online and also read the accountinf figures required once received.

Or at least this is what is my view.

It stands for

"in-line Extensible Business Reporting Language", and is used so that the accounts can be vetted by HMRC computers, rather than a human being, and analysed for various things.

I think the algorithms HMRC use to read them look for obvious errors, and dodgy looking ones disbelief

All company accounts filed from 1st April, now have to be iXBRL tagged, or they wont be accepted

Bill

Bill,

Thanks for providing the meat on the bones from my effort - I just learnt what iXRBL actually stood for...
