CIS verification question
Permalink Closed

Hi,

My client's company is registered as a CIS contractor, they've used a      sub-contractor who only just registered as a sole trader. We used his NI nubmer to verify him, and of course it came out as 30% (un-matched). Last week he told us, that he received his UTR and register as a sub-contractor with HMRC. Shall I re-verify him now, what's the correct procedure in this situation?

Thanks for your advice.

Yep, phone the CIS verification line and let them know about the UTR and you should be able to put him through again and deduct less tax.

Don't know as you've already verified him once. You could give it a go, worse that can happen is nothing!

I'll give it a go and see if it's possible to verify subcontractor twice using online service then :)
Thank you!

You should be able to verify online even if you tried to verify online beforehand.

I tried and I don't think I can.
Has anyone done it before?

Just phone them up and sort it, far easier.
