Software for ICB level II computerised
Permalink Closed

I need some software to do my Level II paper, but I'm not that far down the road and haven't bought any yet.

I know a few on here like VT Transaction.  I also know that people on the ICB forum have used Fusion to sit their papers.  What has everyone else used?  I need something that's easy to pick up as I really want to sit the paper soon.

I had thought about getting some software on a free trial but the ICB website says to be wary as often free trials have restricted functionality which might impact on my ability to complete the exam.

Help!!!

I use VT and can confirm that it is easy to use. I have the full version though, so not sure what restrictions there might be on printing reports etc. Who is your learning provider? Do they have a software trial you could use? Or are you self studying?

Oh, I've just reposted this as I thought my original had disappeared.

I'm self studying so have no learning provider...

I decided to use Sage Instant Accounts for two reasons, it seemed the safest to use - I didn't want to fail because the software restricted me.  I do think the exam is aimed towards Sage. The other reason is that it is very popular and if in the future a client has Sage or insists on using Sage then I can say I know the software. I would hate to lose a job because I didn't know Sage even though I have used so many different software programmes I am confident I could learn anything if need be.

Once I have passed level 3 I intend to try VT Transaction, as I understand it is Excel based so does attract me.  If, No when, I get clients I intend to use Excel unless the job requires something else or the clients already has the software.

Good luck Sylvia
