Hi
the fact that you can't do an online mock and that ICB post you the assessment and you have two weeks to complete it and post back.

Ah yes it is still the old form of assessment which is done via the post.

There is a mock paper available, you can download it for £5 or I am sure someone here can give you a copy.

They are sent out on Fridays, you need to book it before 9am Friday or it will be sent out the following week.

It will come as a printed booklet containing a scenario for you to run through.

Depending on what the scenario is that you get you will most likely be asked to enter a company's details onto software of your choice. Then carry out usual day to day tasks printing off various reports as you go along.

After you have finished you post the reports back to the ICB for marking.

Results take around 28 days.

Does that help?

Good luck!

I have a mock here which i got with Kaplan, so i'll do that. I just preferred to do the mocks online.

Not as quick as usual ICB marking but still fastest in the industry that I know of biggrin

There are plans to make it online but it is difficult to integrate with software packages.

Hi Ghis,

I've got a copy of the level 2 mock exam Orchard Bistro with answers that I could forward to you if you like.  I've also got the level 3 computerised mock Wilcox & Co.  Might be useful for extra practise and if you go on to level 3.

Hi Elizabeth

Apologies for the long delay in responding. (Christmas and having kids at home) not much time to study or get anything done.

I have the mock exam for the computerised level 2, but i would really appreciate it for level 3. would you like my email address?

Quite easy, and I really enjoyed doing it.

I used VT and had already done a past paper so I knew roughly how to create sales, purchase, general ledger accounts, etc.  The hardest bit for me was working out how to run the reports.

I've jumped ahead and ordered the Level III paper to be sent out to me on Friday...

Fingers crossed it all comes together this time too!

Well done! I'm going to do a few mocks before i take the real thing. All the best for level 3. Are you going to do level 3 Manual?

Ghis

Yes, I'm going to do the manual one too. Then Payroll and Self Assessment, although I think I might take a few weeks out before tackling these 2...

I just bought the Level III text book off the ICB website, and have been working through it. Saying that, I've done it all before many years ago when I sat my AAT and then ACCA.

My Level III computerised is going back today, and my manual is now booked for Friday 2nd Feb. I can almost see a light at the end of the tunnel (and a pretty hefty credit card bill to go with it)!!!

Hi Jo

Lol.. I know what you mean, it's not cheap....

I think a lot of people on here have had either the experience or have had previously completed the course i have done neither, so it is all new to me.

I think i will start buying the text book from ICB & Kaplan and do it myself if all fails i'll get back up from a training provider.
