Help - Mystery Shopping Accounts!
Permalink Closed

Hi All,

I have just registered onto this site and was wondering if I could possibly ask for some help?

I am a mystery shopper and am filling in my reports for my tax return (shouldn't have left it this late at all).  The queries I have are as follows:

  • In my assignments I get a spend limit eg. £10.00 and anything over that is not reimbursed.  If the minimum possible spend is more than this do I put the full spend in my books?  What if I could have spent less than £10.00 but spent more, what figure would I then put down?
  • I have lots of mileage and some mystery shops were in the lake district (I live in Liverpool).  I claim 40p per mile and have claimed the lowest possible mileage but this gives me a high loss amount on those specific mystery shops.

Any information would be greatly appreciated and hopefully I can fill my tax return in early!!

Many thanks

Snowflower

Hi

My understanding would be you need to record the exact amout you spend regardless of if its over or under the limit.

The loss makes no difference you can claim this against the profits on other shops.

Please note for next year your mileage rate will increase to 45p.
