So, 48 self assessment returns done, of which 38 were in January. Did all the usual monthly bookkeeping too, as well as two sets of statutory accounts. Only seven VAT returns, two sets of statutory accounts and three client all day visits to do before 16th February when I'm taking a long overdue holiday. So, how did you do?

Liz, I'm stalking you... but again, thank god it's over, I'm going to be more organised next year. My office seriously needs gutted. At least February should be a bit less hectic.

I can see the carpet in mine again, I end up with piles on the floor, and just when I think I can get rid of some of the clients' paperwork the next lot turns up in a carrier bag!

Liz - how many people do you have working for you to do that work load! Thats a hell of alot.

Have a good hols.

Picked up the paperwork for my final one.... an hour ago. The irony is the client is subject to CIS, so he'll be due a rebate.

Still going.....so tired! Have not had a January like this in years. Still two VAT returns to finish before the 7th as well.

Used the two day reprieve to get two stragglers off the fine (whats the odds on still receiving penalty notices?)
and the last few days making inroads to the backlog, including some satisfying ESCa19 jobs. I don't charge an arm and a leg for those but they're great PR and one got me a bottle of Moet.

Had a look at RTI again last night and most of us were under the impression it might never happen. Plague or marketing opportunity? Hmmm... not sure I want to do payroll anymore.

Hoping everyone can take it easier for a little while.
