I guess this has been discussed before at some point but what are the up to date views on Tax Return software.  I'm using Quickbooks and would like something easy to use for self assessment.

This is just my personal opinion, but my vote goes to TaxCalc, as its easy to use, fairly cheap and has never let me down. Also, the online and telephone support is good too. I ordered it online and it was an easy process.

As  I said above, this is only my opinion and i'm sure the other contributors will have other suggestions.

If you aer looking for something to integrate with your accounts production package, then I agree, Taxcalc would be a good choice.

If you only do simple tax returns which require little adjustment (depreciation add backs etc) then to be honest the HMRC software, is easy to use.

Thanks for those. I've just had a look and Andica certainly seems reasonably priced for the right number of returns I want to submit. Good demo too to see how it works.

PTP is easy to use and is not too expensive.
