Hi Guys

As you know loaded Sage on new laptop last night everything ok.  Started to input data fine, went to run a trail balance out of the blue this message came up (don't you love it when computers talk to you) C:Program files (X86) SAGE/ACCOUNTS/REPORTS// *TB SRT contains an invalid path bugger.  So I went for a long soak in the bath with a large glass of wine, put my thinking cap on (not shower cap).  Went back to laptop the only way I got sage to work was by right clicking Sage and running it as administrator the reports show then, is this alright to run sage this way ?  Kind Regards Sue

Thinking cap deinitely worked.

And if this fixed the problem then just go with it.

You should be absolutely fine running it with administrator privelages.

All the best,

Shaun.

I am pretty sure I have read somewhere in the installation instructions, that you need to run it with administrator priviliges.

When I ran it on Vista, I always got an MS defender security message, asking if i wanted to allow the programme to run, and had to select "run as administrator" to allow me to use it (even though I had set the privilege settings to Administrator) . Since changing to W7, I don't get that message any more.

Think it's just one of those quirky Sage things

Bill
