Threshold on Rental Income
Permalink Closed

Hello!

Does anyone know what the income threshold is on renting out part of your home as office space? A client of mine is paying rent to her mother for the use of a home office, but wants to know how much her mother can earn from this before she is liable to pay tax.

Advice please!! Thank u.

I've only heard of a scheme for residential purposes so as far as I am aware, there is no exemption.

see page 4002 at the above link.

best wishes

Tim
