I currently run my bookkeeping business with Sage 50 Accounts Client Manager (50 company). Its a couple of years old now, so I thought I'd look at the Sage site to price up an upgrade. I was surprised to read that you cannot buy Client Manager version unless you belong to a Certified Accoutancy body. Has anyone come across this before? I am AAT trained, but not registered with them any more. Are they really saying I cant upgrade? Cant face a phone call to a sales person this late in the evening, so I'll have to call them tomorrow to find out...
I think they say this to put off people buying SAGE client manager rather than a multi company version of SAGE line 50 which would be much more expensive.
This is what a SAGE person told me about 6 months ago.
I am not a member of a certified body at the moment but they said they would sell to me if i wanted to buy.

When I bought mine I had to send them a copy of my Practice Certificate with the ICB as well as a copy of my driving licence.
