I'm looking at putting in an R&D Tax Credit claim for one of our software products we've been developing to combat online credit card fraud, I'm going to use someone like R&D Tax Credit Experts to do this as I feel my current Accountant isn't up to speed on R&D tax credit claims.  Has anyone used these guys?  Are they any good?  Do you think it's wise to step away from my current Accountant, just for this bit?

Hi Robert

I went through this way back when first available but forget more than I remember.....only that the HMRC agents seemed pretty clued up on what was and wasn't innovative which was the main factor back then....not sure what has changed since.

Anyway, I know someone who specialises in this area and could assist with this along with other techy grants.

To answer your question, I haven't dealt with the company you mention, but the guy I am talking about is freelance and would probably offer a more personal and informal service......possibly even cheaper??

Let me know/email me if you need any further details.

R

Hiya Robert,

Haven't heard of R&D Tax Credit Experts, but the issue with a lot of these companies is that they are accountants and not technical people.

What you need for a successful claim is someone who can write you a technical report for the HMRC which justifys what you are doing meets their guidelines, or you can write this yourself.  But it's essential for a claim to pass.

Hopefully Count1314's consultant has helped you out, but if not let me know as we have a 100% success rate of getting software R&D claims passed.

Cheers

Paul
