What is a p14 and how does it differ to a p60, and do I need to do anything in sage payroll yearend?

The P14 is HMRC's equivalent of the employee's P60.

If you're filing your P35/P14 online using Sage then probably you can just forget about P14s

They don't exist as a paper document, only as an electronic one.
