I use Kashflow and find it's really easy to use - it's aimed far more at the general public than bookkeepers in my opinion.
It can be a bit slow but that's only down to internet connection, so I assume all cloud accounting software suffers the same problem, although they have just created a "rapidfire" alternative to input invoices and receipts offline then upload them as a batch.
There's a lot of it about. I use Brightpearl for some clients but I think the starting price has gone up from what I pay. It's brilliant tho. A client uses Free Agent and whilst it has a few bits that are difficult to work around in the main it works well. The price has increased on all these packages as they've been developed and got more well known. There's also Xero
Also whilst the majority of online offerings are very transparent arrangements watch out for sign up fee's and pay per client arrangements with the few that are not.
For example, Arithmo charges per client per annum with a £499 minimum 10 clients then £40 for every client over the first 10.
The accountants version of Sage one is currently very competitive but from past experience of sage licencing one has to question how long it will stay that way (sure that pay per client is already on their to do list once they have enough takers).
kind regards,
Shaun.

Need to correct you here on Arithmo, pricing of our new version is below. website has old version.
There are 3 price points:
(1) £499 plus vat per annum for 25 clients, additional clients is £20 plus vat PER ANNUM (which is how much some of the other systems cost per month).
(2) £299 plus vat per annum for 10 clients, additional clients is £30 plus vat
(3) You can have reseller system, no upfront cost. You get 30% of direct cost per client purchasing the system via your reseller link, sitting in your website. Customers buying direct from us, cost to them is £60 (vat inclusive) per annum for cash version. £120 per annum (for invoice, vat) version.
So for 25 client system you are paying only £20 plus vat per ANNUM per client, which is the full fat version (invoicing, vat). The price also includes branded version of Arithmo, support to you, updates and hosting (ARITHMO lives in the same datacentre as Xero, Kashflow and Sage One. Not sure where AccountsPortal lives, users of AccountsPortal need to check this).
How much you charge you client is all upto you. Many of our accountants include it in their bookkeeping fees.
How did you come to conclusion Sage One is more competitive?
thanks for the update. quite naturally I only had your website to go on which explains my mistake.
I didn't say that Sage one was more competitive, I said that it was very competitive. To say more would imply taking into account all features, costs, etc. and I've really not looked at it in any real depth.
The reason behind the competitive comment was that it was mentioned on here that Sage one for accountants is £10 per month with no setup fees and no restriction on clients. I come firmly in the skeptical camp when anything from Sage sounds reasonable.
Of course, I could be completely wrong again and they may never change to a per client tax approach as they have with line 50.
It's quite interesting to compare and contrast the early entrant market skimming strategy of Arithmo against the late entrant market penetration policy adopted by Sage where they are obviously looking to squeeze out the current incumbants in a price war.
Interesting times.
kind regards,
Shaun.

Hi Shaun
Arithmo and Sage One target market are sole traders and micro companies, hence both well Priced. Arithmo's pricing of 25 client system makes it really affordable for folks to use online accounting software via their accountants and bookkeepers. Bookkeeping on Spreadsheets were coming to our mind, not Sage when we were deciding on our pricing. Nought to do with price skimming stratergies.
defo online accounting software arena is getting exciting.
