Hello,

I have completed AATs ABC book keeping course and am wondering if this would be a sound foundation from which to progress directly to level 3 AAT?

Comparing level 2 AAT with the ABC course level there looks to be alot of overlap with the exception of basic costing, and so I'd rather not the level 2 AAT.

I've experience of working as a bookkeeper having used Quickbooks, and now IRIS. I'm doing a payroll course now but I reckon I'll want to get on and do level 3 at some point.

Thanks

Hi Palawan,

at level II as you've already spotted you would just be repeating things that you have already studied.

When combined with your practical experience I can see no reason at all why you shouldn't go straight to level III.

There may be a couple of things that you missed but nothing that you won't quickly pick up in your level III studies.

all the best,

Shaun.

Hi Palawan

A lot of students comfortably start at level 3 of the AAT after completing the ABC course so it's very possible. Some students however do puchase the basic costing book (from level 2) to ensure they are prepared for the costs and revenues unit at level 3.

If you already have experience in costing this is not an issue for you but bear it in mind if you don't.

I hope this helps

Jane
